Teleworking: awaiting clarifications

28/04/2026

FO, CFE-CGC and CFTC unions sent  today the following letter to Sadika HOUARI, Head of Human Resources for Airbus Commercial Aircraft France.

Following the extraordinary Works Council meeting of Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and the statement by the President of Airbus Commercial announcing Management's intention to reduce remote work to one day per week at the Toulouse facilities, the FO, CFE-CGC, and CFTC unions wish to express their profound incomprehension.

We ask Management to clarify the objective factors that led to such a sudden and unilateral decision, as nothing currently seems to justify its necessity.

Since the signing of the remote work agreement in spring 2024, its implementation within the Airbus Commercial Aircraft division has been widely supported by both employees and management. This balance, the result of constructive social dialogue, has demonstrated its operational and social relevance.

For FO, CFE-CGC, and CFTC unions, the implementation of remote work must remain a matter of common sense, respecting the rules established in the agreement.

A majority agreement is binding. Its implementation cannot be challenged without prior consultation. Otherwise, the very quality of social dialogue would be undermined.

Furthermore, several concrete realities appear to be insufficiently addressed:

  • Working conditions linked to the development of hybrid working/flex office arrangements, combined with a reduction in office space, make it impossible for all employees to return to the site simultaneously;
  • The increasing parking difficulties at the sites, not to mention the tensions in company restaurants;
  • A continuous rise in energy costs and a risk of fuel shortages nationwide.

In light of the legitimate concerns of employees, FO, CFE-CGC, and CFTC unions request that the Management's true intentions on this matter be clarified as soon as possible.
We look forward to your response.
