As a signatory union of the group agreement, FO participated last January 21, 2026, in the review of the 2025 Long-Term Bike Rental (LLD) campaign. This meeting provided an opportunity for your representatives to voice your concerns, analyze the results, and propose concrete improvements to facilitate your commute by bike.
A success confirming employee interest in cycling
The 2025 campaign demonstrated genuine enthusiasm despite the implementation complexities for Airbus Groupβs 50,000 employees.
Massive Participation: 1,444 bikes were ordered, and 3,772 employees sought information during the various Zenride campaigns.
Usage Profile: 80% of the bikes are Electrically Assisted Cycles (EAC), and 94 cargo bikes were successfully requested.
Financial Commitment: the average net cost for employees is β¬28.25 per month, rising to β¬30 with safety equipment.
Modal Shift: 57% of LLD users previously used their personal cars for commuting, helping to reduce the carbon footprint of our sites.
The role of FO during the session
Beyond the figures, FO intervened on critical points to relay your messages and propose improvements to the current system:
Infrastructure and Parking: faced with the massive influx of new bikes, FO insists on the need for more parking spaces and changing rooms.
Battery Safety: charging batteries in the office remains prohibited for safety reasons (lithium); however, storing batteries at the desk is permitted.
Zenride App Improvements: following field feedback, several fixes were implemented (geolocation, offline trip recording), and it is now possible to declare a "forgotten trip" within a limit of 15% of annual trips.
Mid-Year Contracts: FO ensured that the required number of trips is calculated pro rata based on full months of rental, so as not to penalize new program members
The 80-Trip Requirement: FO proposed exploring a "kilometer-based equivalent" for employees living more than 15 km from their workplace. Cycling 30 km a day requires significantly more physical commitment and organization; this effort must be recognized to avoid excluding the most motivated employees. The 80-trip threshold should not be a barrier, but a realistic and adaptable goal to encourage wider participation in the LLD program.
Looking toward 2026: next enrollment campaign
