FOCUS on... pregnancy and maternity leave

21/10/2024

You are pregnant? Congratulations!
Do you want to know all the systems put in place within Airbus to support you? This article tells you everything, from declaring your pregnancy to the arrival of your child.

Duration of maternity leave

Regardless of your seniority, you benefit from legal maternity leave before and after childbirth, the duration of which depends on the number of children living in the household and the number of expected births. For example, if you are expecting your 1st or 2nd child, this leave lasts 16 weeks (6 weeks before the birth + 10 weeks after).
In addition, since the entry into force of the new company agreement on January 1, 2024, Airbus employees benefit from 1 additional week, to be added to legal maternity leave. This additional week is positioned directly following legal maternity leave and without splitting.

Both periods, legal maternity leave and extra-week, are paid 100%.

Declaration of pregnancy

As soon as you know your pregnancy calendar issued by the CPAM, with the expected date of birth, you must declare your maternity leave in myPULSE / My Personal Data (select "Absence request / Long-term absence").

On medical advice, it is possible to postpone the start of maternity leave by a maximum of 3 weeks. In this case, postnatal leave is postponed accordingly.
You must inform your manager, the company doctor and send Reward Operations a letter from the doctor authorizing the postponement and a new pregnancy calendar issued by the CPAM (or, failing that, a letter/email from the CPAM attesting to the dates of start and end of maternity leave).

Arrangement of working time during pregnancy

From the moment you declare your pregnancy, you benefit from 1 hour of paid rest per day until the start of your maternity leave. These hours can be capitalized over a week (thus allowing one to take a ½ day of rest per week) or over a fortnight (for taking one day of rest per fortnight) on medical advice (treating or company doctor) and in accordance with the hierarchy.
Each absence must be recorded in myHR with the reason “Pregnancy-related rest” (in the event type “Work-life balance”).

Absences for medical examinations

As a future mother, you benefit from a paid leave of absence to attend compulsory medical examinations as part of the medical surveillance of pregnancy and the aftermath of childbirth (childbirth preparation courses do not are not part of the compulsory exams).

If you use medically assisted procreation, you benefit from authorization of absence for the medical procedures necessary for the protocol.

Each absence must be recorded in myHR for the reason "Mandatory prenatal exam" and proof of consultation must be provided to the manager.
Please note: employees on the day package ("forfait jours") must not register an absence, but only inform their manager.

Compensation for maternity leave and impact on leave, bonuses, bonuses, etc.

SALARY
During the duration of legal maternity leave, Airbus ensures 100% remuneration is maintained (after deduction of Social Security daily allowances).
The same applies during the additional week granted by our company agreement.

ANNUAL BONUS
Maternity leave has no impact on the calculation of the annual bonus/variable part.
Furthermore, in our company agreement, we have negotiated that the amount of the variable annual bonus paid to a cadre who has benefited from maternity leave during the year is guaranteed at a level at least equal to the average which she received during the previous 3 years.

SUCCESS AND PROFIT SHARING
Maternity leave has no impact on the calculation of success and profit sharing bonuses.

LEAVE (paid leave, JRTT)
During maternity leave, leave is not prorated. The rights are therefore the same as if you had worked.

Carryover of leave:
- in the event of absence for maternity leave of at least 3 consecutive months over the year, legal paid leave and unused JRTT are automatically carried over to the following year.
- in the event of absence on maternity leave during a period of company closure, unused JRTT are automatically carried over to the following year.

Child's declaration

After the birth, you must declare your child in myPULSE / My Personal Data by clicking on "Dependents" in the "Change my personal information" section, then on "Add".

In addition, the AISC will offer you a €100 birth gift voucher to use on MeyClub to purchase clothes, toys or childcare equipment.
To do this, register your newborn on your AISC account (“My profile”) and upload the requested documents online.
